Problem
Thinkbox was paying for idle services, unused resources and EC2 capacity running outside the hours it was needed.
What we did
We shut down idle services and RDS databases, removed resources nothing was using, and put the EC2 instances on a schedule so they run only when they are needed.
Outcome
Monthly spend fell 49% between June and September 2026.

How we work

    Map the systems, the people using them and the changes they need. Identify what is slowing the work down before recommending a solution.

    Challenge

    Test whether the problem needs new software, a change to an existing system, or a simpler process. Make the tradeoffs clear before committing to a build.

    Ship

    Break the work into changes that can be tested and released in stages. Plan how each change reaches production and how to roll it back.

    Improve

    Use production performance, running costs and feedback from the people using the platform to decide what to improve next.
